How do I link the CrewPlanner calendar to my external calendar?

Connect your CrewPlanner calendar to your device's calendar.

Introduction

Would you like to see your scheduled CrewPlanner shifts on the agenda of your device? Then follow the steps in this article to link your CrewPlanner calendar to your external calendar.


Where to find the link in CrewPlanner

To be able to link your calendar you need a URL link. You can obtain this from the AGENDA page in the app. Once you are on this page you will see a calendar icon at the top right.

After selecting this icon, you will be taken to the page where you can download the URL link for your external calendar. In the middle of this page you will find a button with which you can copy the URL link to link your external calendar.

When you see a green message appear at the top of the page, you have copied the URL link correctly. You then only have to perform the steps necessary to link your external calendar.


How to do this for your iOS calendar

These steps were inherited from Apple's support page:

  1. In Settings, tap Calendar, > Accounts, > New Account, > Other.

  2. Tap ‘Add Calendar Subscription’.

  3. Enter the URL of the .ics file you want to subscribe to and enter any other necessary server information.

  1. In the Calendar app on your Mac, choose File > New Calendar Subscription.

  2. Enter the calendar's web address, then click ‘Subscribe’.

  3. Type a name for the calendar in the Name field, click the pop-up menu next to the field, then choose a colour.


How to do this for your Google calendar

These steps were taken from Google's support page:

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar.

  2. In the top right, click Settings.

  3. In the pane on the left under "Settings for my calendars," click the name of the calendar you want to use.

  4. Click ‘Integrate Calendar’.

  5. Copy the link in the Secret address section in iCal format.

  6. Paste the link according to the instructions of your other calendar app.


How to do this for your Outlook calendar

These steps were inherited from Microsoft's support page:

  1. Sign in to Outlook.com.

  2. At the bottom of the page, select the calendar icon.

  3. Select Add Calendar in the Navigation Pane.

  4. Select Subscribe to the web.

  5. Enter the calendar URL.

  6. Select Import.


How to do this for your Thunderbird calendar

These steps were taken from Mozilla's support page:

On the network - connecting to your online calendars

If you choose 'On the network', your calendar files can reside on general web servers (read-only), on WebDAV servers, on CalDAV, on the local file system or a network share, on FTP servers, or you can use your Google calendars.

  • Choose On the network and click Next.

  1. Enter your user name, for example, your email address at Gmail.

  2. Enter the calendar URL in the location field. Thunderbird recognises a variety of calendar URLs.

  3. If applicable, check This location does not require credentials.

  4. Offline support is checked by default so you can use your calendar even when you are offline.

  5. Click Find Calendars.

In the next step, Thunderbird shows you a selection of available calendars.

  • You can change the properties of each calendar, such as its name and colour, with the Properties button.

  • Place a checkmark next to the desired calendars and click Subscribe.
