How to earn points

Multiple employers with gamification

Gamification is an optional functionality that your employer can use to make working with CrewPlanner even more attractive, enjoyable and interactive by introducing a game aspect. By being able to earn points to work your way to the top of the leaderboard, your employer wants to motivate you to share availability or to work, for example. Moreover, you have the opportunity to redeem these points and purchase items in the marketplace.

Once your employer has activated this functionality, you will see a cup icon at the top right of the app with the total number of points you have earned so far.

When you select this icon, you will be directed to your employer's leaderboard.

Through this page, you will be able to access all further information related to gamification.

On the LEADERBOARD you can see at a glance which colleagues currently have the most points and how many, and where you yourself are ranked.

At the bottom of this page, you also have the following options:

As mentioned before, at the bottom of the leaderboard you will find the REDEEM POINTS option.

As you might suspect, once you select this, you will be directed further to the MARKETPLACE where you can redeem your points.

The marketplace displays the items your employer makes available for you to purchase or rather exchange for a certain number of points determined by them. If you have enough points, the icon at the bottom right of each item has a black background and you can purchase this item by selecting it.

This notifies your employer of your desire to purchase this item, which enables them to take the necessary actions.

If the icon has a grey background, you do not yet have enough points and will therefore not be able to select the item.

At the bottom of the leaderboard, you can also navigate to your EARNING HISTORY.

Select above and you will be taken to the next page:

Here you can see exactly when, how and how many points you earned.

However, if you want to know how you can earn points, select HOW TO EARN POINTS at the bottom of the leaderboard.

This will open the page below and give you an overview of all the actions you can earn points for and how much.

So how do you access this information if several employers use gamification functionality?

At the top of the app, you still notice the cup icon with the number of points next to it. This number represents the total number of points you currently have, for all employers combined. Select it once again for more information.

You are however no longer immediately taken to the leaderboard; you first will see an overview of the breakdown of your points for your different employers and your ranking on their leaderboard.

Next, select the employer for which you wish to access further information and you will be redirected to the leaderboard for this employer.

At the bottom of the leaderboard, you will be directed similarly to this employer's marketplace, earning history and how to earn points pages.
