CrewPlanner provides several ways to send messages to employees, offering a choice between push notification, email, or SMS (charges apply). If a push notification is selected but the employee isn’t logged into the app, the system will automatically send an email as an alternative.
Agenda page – Actions:
Go to the AGENDA page and select ACTIONS to send messages related to employee shifts. You can choose to send the message as a push notification, email, or SMS. If the employee isn’t logged into the app, an email will be sent instead of a push notification.Agenda page – Via project:
On the AGENDA page, select a project. On the top right of the project you find the envelope icon, select to send a message to all employees involved in that project. As with other methods, you can choose between push notification, email, or SMS, with the email sent as a fallback for the push notification if the employee is not logged into the app.CrewTip! The messaging module offers you the option to remind only those employees who have not yet submitted their availability for shifts, to do so. Select the PROJECTS tab in the messaging module and tick the checkbox for NO AVAILABILITY INDICATED. This will automatically select only those employees which have not yet indicated their availability, for the project(s) you have selected.
Employees page – Actions:
On the EMPLOYEES page, select ACTIONS to send messages to individual employees or groups. Depending on your choice, the message will be delivered via push notification, email, or SMS.CrewTip! Managers can view all messages sent to employees on the MESSAGES page. You find this page by selecting MESSAGES in ACTIONS or by selecting VIEW MESSAGES in the employee pop-up.
More detailed information on the messaging module can be found here.
Chat function (Classic and pro packages only)
When subscribed to our classic or pro packages, CrewPlanner offers the use of a chat module. You can activate it through SETTINGS > CONFIGURATION.
Managers can be granted permissions to read and send messages via chat. The chat allows for one-on-one conversations, project-level, or department-level communication.
