Introduction
The document verification functionality allows your employer to collect documents they need to employ you, or to carry out identity checks. You can upload documents using a file on your device or by taking a picture. Once the documents were added, they are available to be checked by your employer.
When might you be asked to upload documents
Once you have completed the entire registration process and you are directed to the app, at that point you may be asked to upload documents for verification.
CrewTip! Do you work for multiple employers? In that case, you may be asked multiple times to upload the same documents. If this request occurs, you’ll need to upload them for each employer. Each employer determines which documents are required.
However, your employer may also have an additional or new document verification requirement and you may be asked to upload these new or additional documents the next time you open the app.
CrewTip! You have the option to skip the verification 3 times and continue in the app, but after that the app will be locked until you upload the necessary documents.
How to upload documents
Once you have selected a document type for verification, you will have the option to enter the expiration date and to upload a file or take a photo.
Once you select the Expiration date field, a calendar will open. Click on the year to select the correct year. Then use the arrows at the top next to the month to navigate to the desired month and select the day. Finally, confirm and this date will appear in the field.
CrewTip! If a document does not have a specific day on which it expires, such as a bank card, select the last day of the month.
Then select the field with the upload icon and Choose a file, to upload a file or take a picture.
CrewTip! If the option to take a photo does not appear, check your app settings to make sure you have given permission to use your device's camera.
Once you have uploaded a file or photo, a bin icon and a circular arrow will appear in the top right corner of the document.
The bin icon allows you to delete the document again, but we'll discuss that in a moment.
The arrow can be used to rotate the document by 90° to the right if the document is not correctly oriented.
Select SAVE at the bottom to deliver your verification documents to your employer and continue in the app.
Where can you consult verification documents
Once you have uploaded your verification documents, you can access them in your account. To do this, select your profile picture or your initials in the top right corner and then ACCOUNT in the drop down.
This will open the account settings where you will find the VERIFICATION tab at the top. If this tab is not immediately visible, swipe left on the tab titles at the top. Here you can consult or edit your verification documents.
How to edit an expiration date or verification documents
If you want to edit your verification documents or their expiration date, you can only do so as long as they have not yet been checked by your employer. Unless the expiration date of the document is 45 days or less away, but more on this in the next chapter.
You navigate to the VERIFICATION tab in your account settings as discussed in the previous chapter.
Next, select the expiration date you wish to adjust.
To replace an existing document, first delete it before uploading a new file or picture. To do so, select the bin icon in the top right corner of the document concerned. After confirming this action, you can upload a new document as discussed earlier.
CrewTip! If you can no longer select the expiration date and the bin icon is no longer visible, your documents have already been checked and can no longer be changed. If you still want to change anything after this, contact your employer.
What happens when verification documents expire
As soon as the expiration date of a verification document is removed 45 days into the future, the remaining number of days is displayed in a yellow banner in the VERIFICATION tab and you again have the option to remove this document and upload a new valid document.
From 14 days before a document's expiration date, you will be prompted to upload a new document as soon as you open the app. You can skip this action until the expiration date of the document to continue in the app. However, after the expiration date is reached or exceeded, you only have 3 opportunities to skip it before access to the app is blocked.
CrewTip! Please note, depending on your employer's settings, you may not be able to be scheduled on a project once a verification document has expired until a valid document has been uploaded.
